Mission: to nourish the wellness, purpose and dignity of older adults and their families in our community For over 50 years Community SeniorServ Inc. dba Meals on Wheels Orange County has been the largest nonprofit senior nutrition and supportive service provider in Orange County, serving nearly one million meals to over 10,000 at-risk older adults annually. We deliver programs and services that reduce hunger and improve wellness for older adults so that they may live independently in the homes and communities they love. Approximately 25% of older adults in Orange County live alone, possibly without the resources we take for granted. You can enhance an older adult’s welfare, help them stay living in the home they love, and lessen the loneliness many of them face each day. In just one hour a week, you can: Deliver a nutritious meal and a friendly check-in Dispense cheer and companionship as a friendly visitor Serve hot lunch to older adults at a nearby senior center Assist in a social activity at an Adult Day Program Meals on Wheels Orange County has volunteer opportunities for everyone. Volunteers play an essential role in nourishing the well-being of older adults in Orange County. Volunteers are needed throughout Central, North, and West Orange County. A few of our volunteer positions require a background check before you can be approved as a volunteer. Those that volunteer to work with our frail seniors in Adult Day Health Care may require a TB test prior to approval. Meals on Wheels and Friendly Visitor volunteers require a California driver’s license.
