Achieve Charter High School Achieve Charter School of Paradise Inc. (Achieve) is organized as a non-profit, 501c3 public benefit corporation with an independent board of directors legally and fiscally responsible for operating one or more charter schools. Achieve currently operates Achieve Charter School of Chico, a Kindergarten through 8th grade school authorized by the Chico Unified School District, and Achieve Charter School of Paradise, a Kindergarten through 7th grade school authorized by the Paradise Unified School District. Achieve also holds a 9th-12th grade high school charter, Achieve Charter High School, authorized by the Butte County Office of Education, that is currently non-operational and awaiting its rebuild in Paradise. We believe learning best occurs in a small school community where every student is known and develops strong relationships with adults and peers. Achieve offers personalized learning, career exploration, a school-wide sense of community, emphasis on character building, a challenging learning environment with high expectations, academic and social-emotional supports, research-based instructional strategies taught by highly qualified and trained teachers, high attendance rates, and an increased number of instructional minutes. There are many opportunities to get involved at Achieve! PARENT/GUARDIAN VOLUNTEERS Volunteering is not mandatory but always welcome. There are multiple ways to volunteer (classrooms, school library, coaches, field trip drivers/chaperones, special events/fundraisers, etc.). Contact the school office or check the school and classroom newsletters for ways you can help. See the visitor and volunteer policy and procedure in the Parent/Student Handbook for more details. PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL In an effort to promote and increase parental involvement and leadership, Achieve Charter School developed the Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Each school campus has a PAC that is an advisor to the staff and to the Board of Directors, suggesting items for action or attention. Both the Paradise and Chico PACs report directly to the site Principal. The PAC also serves as the parent advisory, supports parent volunteers and fundraising events, and is the committee for our LCAP and Title I. PAC meeting schedules can be found in the school newsletters, and all Achieve Charter School parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. ACHIEVE PARADISE CHICO FAMILIAS HISPANAS Achieve Paradise Chico (APC) Familias Hispanas, a parent advisory council with Spanish-speaking parents from both campuses, was formed in the Spring of 2023. Families provide program feedback and plan schoolwide events to promote and showcase diverse cultures. Interested in attending a meeting and learning more? Meeting dates, times, and location details can be found in the school newsletters. ACHIEVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS The Achieve Board of Directors is composed of community members and parents. Parent board members' seats are two-year terms. Contact the school office for board member requirements and openings.
