Habitat for Humanity Lake County

Inspired by God’s love, Habitat for Humanity unites people to build homes, strengthen communities, and foster hope. We believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live, and we welcome anyone who shares this belief to join us, regardless of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. Habitat is open to volunteers, supporters, and future homeowners from all walks of life. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates strictly avoid proselytizing. Our assistance comes with no expectations for adherence to, conversion to, or even exposure to religious messaging. The construction process is a partnership between volunteers and future homeowners, with families contributing 500 hours of “sweat equity” toward the building of their home and those of others. Habitat homes are sold at cost, with a no-interest mortgage, repaid over 30 to 45 years. These payments are then used to build additional homes for those in need.
