Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay

Motivated by a commitment to express God’s love, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to construct homes, develop communities, and inspire hope. We believe in the right to a decent, affordable home for everyone and invite individuals of all races, religions, genders, and political views to join us. Habitat is open to volunteers, supporters, and future homeowners from diverse backgrounds. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates maintain a policy of non-proselytizing, offering assistance without any requirement for adherence to, conversion to, or even exposure to religious messaging. Homebuilding is a cooperative effort between volunteers and partner families, who contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” toward their own homes and those of others. Habitat homes are sold at cost, with a no-interest mortgage, repaid over 30 to 45 years. These payments are then used to build more homes for those in need.
