Habitat for Humanity Calaveras

Driven by the desire to manifest God's love, Habitat for Humanity unites individuals to construct homes, build communities, and inspire hope. Habitat embraces volunteers, supporters, and future homeowners from all walks of life, believing that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live. No matter your race, religion, gender, age, or political beliefs, you are welcome to contribute. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates strictly avoid proselytizing. Assistance is never offered with the expectation that recipients must adhere to, convert to, or even listen to religious messaging. Building homes is a collaborative effort between volunteers and future homeowners, who contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” towards their own homes and those of others. Habitat homes are sold at no profit, with a non-interest mortgage, repaid over 30 to 45 years. The payments are then used to build more homes for those in need.
