Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco

In the spirit of God’s love, Habitat for Humanity unites people to build homes, foster communities, and inspire hope. Believing that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to live, we welcome individuals of all races, religions, genders, and political views to join us. Habitat is open to volunteers, supporters, and future homeowners from diverse backgrounds. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates adhere to a strict non-proselytizing policy. We provide assistance without any expectation of adherence to, conversion to, or even exposure to religious messaging. The construction process is a partnership between volunteers and homeowners, who contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” toward their own homes and those of others. Habitat homes are sold at cost, with a no-interest mortgage, repaid over 30 to 45 years. These payments are reinvested to build more homes for those in need.
