Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento

Driven by the mission to reflect God’s love, Habitat for Humanity brings together individuals to build homes, develop communities, and bring hope. We believe that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live, and we welcome people of all backgrounds to join us, regardless of race, religion, gender, or political beliefs. Habitat embraces volunteers, supporters, and future homeowners from all walks of life. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates maintain a non-proselytizing policy, providing assistance with no expectation for adherence to, conversion to, or even exposure to religious messaging. Homebuilding is a cooperative effort between volunteers and families, with future homeowners contributing 500 hours of “sweat equity” toward their own homes and those of others. Habitat homes are sold at cost, with a no-interest mortgage, repaid over 30 to 45 years. These payments are reinvested to build more homes for those in need.
