Boys & Girls Club of Whittier - Ceres Elementary
Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those most in need, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
We offer after-school and summer programs for youth ages 6 to 18, emphasizing Academic Success, Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
Our organization provides a safe and supportive environment where any child can grow and become a contributing member of the community.
VOLUNTEERING & ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Mentoring Program
Elementary-age members at risk of falling behind in school are paired with mentors in our Be Great: Graduate program, which tracks their Attendance, Behavior, and Class performance. Mentors commit to one hour a week to help with homework and enjoy fun activities. Mentors serve as caring adults and role models. We always need volunteers, especially minority males.
Club Programming
If you have a talent or interest in sports, science, tutoring, or music, our staff can use your help. Whether it’s a one-time or regular commitment, you can assist in providing enriching activities.
Special Events
We host several events throughout the year, including a Gala Auction, Wine Dinner, Golf Tournament, and Youth of the Year awards. Volunteers help with setup and tasks during the events.
