Our goal is to cultivate and nurture one-on-one mentoring relationships that empower youth to achieve their fullest potential. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we understand that "small moments can bring great joy" to a child's life! Studies highlight the profound and lasting effects of mentoring: our Littles are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to experiment with illegal drugs, and are more likely to build strong relationships with their family and peers. Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable experiences you can have. Just a few hours of mentoring a child a few times a month can make a tremendous difference in their life. How It Works: Depending on the program you're involved in, you might meet your Little in the community, connect over ZOOM, or through one of our site-based programs. Littles come from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from very young children (as young as six) to teenagers. They may live close by or a bit further away, but they all have one thing in common: they need you! What's Required From You: Complete an application Provide three references Attend an in-person interview Undergo a background check (for adult volunteers only) Participate in orientation/training If you want to apply as a volunteer, please, go to page https://bigs.org/volunteer-give/ Our website is https://bigs.org/, contact email is info@bigs.org, contact phone is 559.673.4863
