Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation

To conserve, restore and enhance the environmental features of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon, marsh, wetlands, and watershed areas. The AHLF operates the lovely Lagoon Discovery Center at 1580 Cannon Road in Carlsbad, where they hold numerous nature related lectures and festivals every year. The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation also has an award-winning Environmental Stewardship School Program designed for 3rd grades. Description The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation's objective is to: -Advocate for the lagoon, promoting and assuring future lagoon vitality -Promote balanced recreational and commercial uses of the lagoon and wetlands -Provide strong support for public access, trails and recreational opportunities -Develop and promote, through The Lagoon Discovery Center, educational programs to enhance community and visitor awareness and understanding of water resource and watershed-related environmental issues.
