Guide Dogs for the Blind California Campus
At Guide Dogs for the Blind California Campus, we have three core client programs:
Guide Dog Program: matching people with highly-trained guide dogs.
Orientation & Mobility Immersion Program: teaching orientation and mobility tactics for safe, independent travel, including the skills that are most relevant to guide dog mobility.
K9 Buddy Program: matching both children and adults with specially selected dogs to be their pets and companions.
We also have a lineup of informational events (both in person and virtual) for people interested in learning more about our programs and the guide dog lifestyle, as well as comprehensive programs for youth and young adults.
We provide the best volunteering opportunities for anyone who wants to help people with a disability.
Some partnerships are just meant to be. Not only is this true for Guide Dogs for the Blind's clients and their guide dogs or K9 Buddies, it's true throughout our entire organization. The partnerships with thousands of passionate volunteers who donate their time, talents, and hearts are what make Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) a reality.
Volunteers welcome dogs into their homes; act as program ambassadors; provide administrative assistance to many departments, and support the mission in myriad ways. If you want to give your time, there's no shortage of ways to help. Explore the many options, and decide what interests you most, and then get in touch.
