Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles - Torrance

Inspired by the mission to manifest God’s love, Habitat for Humanity unites people to build homes, nurture communities, and foster hope. We believe in the right to a decent, affordable home for everyone and welcome individuals of all races, religions, genders, and political views to join us. Habitat is open to volunteers, supporters, and future homeowners from all backgrounds. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates do not engage in proselytizing. Our assistance comes with no expectation for adherence to, conversion to, or even exposure to religious messaging. Homebuilding is a collaborative effort between volunteers and families, with future homeowners contributing 500 hours of “sweat equity” toward their homes and those of others. Habitat homes are sold at no profit, with a non-interest mortgage, repaid over 30 to 45 years. These payments are then used to build additional homes for those in need.
